Toy collectiony goodness

A few photos of my growing toy collection in my work office. Tuf-Fluck (Black) Crappy Cat has just released, ordered and is on its way! This has been accumulated from the time I arrived in the US in April this year.







Im flying back to South Africa on Thursday for a visit and will bring with me my collection over from that side so that the two families can finally meet and mingle.

I'm so excited! After ordering a few toys this morning off the myplasticheart 'pre black friday sale' (http://www.myplasticheart.com/c/0000BLACKFRIDAY/Black+Friday+Sale.html) I decided to stick around on the site and browse a bit more only to find that the crappy cat figure was restocked and I didn't know about it..rushed to my phone and cancelled my order, then reordered to get the normal white colourway and the grey one! cant wait to get my paws on it.

making headlines

The new header is up for the numen blog! Few kinks here and there that I will correct over the coming days but otherwise happy with it. Next phase is to take it into maya for modelling so that I can have a 3d mock up of how I want it him to look like..plus I will use the character model later for animation when I want to make a short film of the little guy. Here is some sketches I worked over to get the final header.





Everything was quite straightforward up to the point where I had to get the leaves onto the branch. I had to make sure that the wording in the branches was readable but still have enough greenery to make it a believable looking tree branch. It took me a few takes but I think what I came up with works.

Ive just bought my sculpey, armiture wire and smooth-on kits for the modelling and molding stages, im so excited! But first things first.. im now busy squeezing all possible free time on getting a header up for this blog. Its taking some time to get out because of the challenging choices for the style and colour for the character and the world it lives in .

numen is born!

This blog will be dedicated to numen! I will be covering the TOTAL making of this character from concept sketches through to the final vinyl toy, even animated shorts. This is a humble beginning for me and I ask for your patience, but the journey will be a great one! I hope that you will follow along with me.
